Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has told The Scottish Sun that Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths is a fantastic player.
Redknapp was impressed with the performance of Griffiths for Scotland against England in the 2018 World Cup qualifier at Hampden Park in Glasgow earlier this month.
The 26-year-old former Wolverhampton Wanderers man scored twice for Scotland to help them earn a 2-2 draw with the Three Lions.
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Redknapp was impressed with the performance of Griffiths and has spoken highly of the Celtic star.
“I think Leigh Griffiths is fantastic,” Redknapp told The Scottish Sun. “I really like him and that day at Hampden I thought to myself: ‘What a good little player’.
“The two goals he scored against England were amazing. He was under pressure, and he delivered with free-kicks that David Beckham would have been proud of.
“To score with two set-pieces like that, when so much was on his shoulders, was unbelievable. Griffiths was great. He also worked ever so hard to keep the England defence occupied.”
Griffiths is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and is an important player for Celtic.
The striker did not play regularly for Brendan Rodgers’s side last season mainly due to the stunning form of Moussa Dembele, but there can be no doubt that the Scotsman is superb and is only going to get better.
As stated on Celtic’s official website, Griffiths has scored 85 goals in 143 appearances for the Glasgow giants so far in his career.
