Rangers' new signing Alfredo Morelos has told Rangers TV that he will score goals whenever the opportunity is there for him to find the net.

After landing five new signings – Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack, Dalcio and Daniel Candeias – manager Pedro Caixinha continued his recruitment drive by adding another new face earlier today.

With Joe Garner sold to Ipswich, Caixinha has moved to bring in more firepower to boost his attack, with striker Alfredo Morelos arriving from Finnish outfit HJK Helsinki.

Morelos, 20, had been on the books with Independiente Medellin back in his native Colombia before a 2016 move to Finland with HJK, and he has been a sensation ever since making that switch.

The striker hit 40 goals in just 54 games for HJK, showing off his predatory instincts whilst scoring a host of different types of goals, before penning a three-year deal with Rangers today.

A recommendation from Rangers coach Jonatan Johansson helped Caixinha put the wheels in motion to sign Morelos, but he remains something of a gamble given that he is coming in from Finnish football.

Tonight, Morelos has told Rangers TV that Rangers can expect to see his strength, pace and ultimately his finishing ability, promising fans goals once he gets in sight of the net.

Morelos added that he ended an 'incredible' spell with HJK and hopes to build on that with Rangers, with fans no doubt excited by Morelos' acknowledgement that he was 'scoring goals in every game' for HJK.

“As a number 9, I can hold off defenders, I’m mobile in and around the box, I’m strong up-front and quick – I have a change of pace,” said Morelos. “The most important thing is that I score goals – when the opportunity is there, I score.”

“I had a really excellent season in Finland and last year was quite incredible for me. It was amazing for me. I grew as a player and a person and 2017 also started that way after the holidays and I came back for pre-season – I was scoring goals in every game and I was really enjoying it,” he added.
