Leeds United's Chris Wood celebrates after scoring their second goal
Leeds United have a new manager, and it was not a name many expected. Thomas Christiansen, the Danish-born former Spanish international, has taken up the position after leaving his role at APOEL Nicosia earlier in the summer.
His arrival should certainly excite one Leeds player- Chris Wood.
The New Zealand international scored 30 goals for Leeds last season in what was a brilliant individual campaign.
When it comes to scoring goals, Christiansen knows a thing or two. Not only did he smash in goals in his career, but he helped develop an APOEL striker last season into a beast.
Pieros Sotiriou is a similar style of striker to Wood and last season the Cypriot international kicked things up a gear under the new Leeds’ bosses guidance.
He scored 27 goals in 53 games for the club, having previously scored just 15 in three seasons.

That form saw him linked with the likes of Everton and West Ham, before agreeing a summer switch to Copenhagen in April.
If Christiansen can have a similar impact on the scoring antics of Wood, then Leeds will have a phenomenon on their hands.
