Barnsley have seen a couple of bids for Forest Green defender Ethan Pinnock rejected, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Pinnock was instrumental in Forest Green's successful promotion from the National League to League Two last season.
The towering central defender made 40 appearances in all competitions for Forest Green as they won the National League play-off final against Tranmere Rovers at Wembley.
Pinnock's performances for Forest Green have not gone unnoticed among several clubs higher up the football pyramid with scouts from Football League clubs keeping a regular check on his progress.
Barnsley have firmed up their interest with two bids since the end of the season which have both been rejected by Forest Green.
