According to reports from Sunday Mercury (print edition, page 54), a host of Premier League and Championship clubs are showing a keen interest in Che Adams.

In fact, as many as half-a-dozen clubs are keeping tabs on the exciting young talent.

The report suggests that Premier League outfits Leicester City and Stoke City have watched him closely, while Southampton have been monitoring his progress even before he joined the Blues in 2016.

There is a “keen interest” in the 20-year-old from the aforementioned clubs, but until now no firm offer has been placed on the table.

Birmingham have no intention of selling one of the ‘crown jewels’ they signed from Sheffield United.

He enjoyed a hugely promising 2016/17 Championship campaign, making 40 league appearances and scoring seven goals.

The youngster is quick and versatile. Last season he played in several positions - on the flanks, as a no. 10 and up front on his own.

Adams is thought to be happy with his situation at Birmingham, but it could be hard for him to refuse if any Premier League come calling.
