According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport (printed edition; page 15) Liverpool could complete the signing of Mohamed Salah in the next 48 hours.

The report claims that the next 48 hours is 'decisive' in completing the deal for the Egyptian winger.

Salah has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool (Sky Sports) and he is reportedly set for a medical at Anfield (Daily Star).

Liverpool had an initial £28 million bid rejected for the player (Sky Sports), which forced the Reds to look for other options, including Lazio’s Keita Balde and Sporting’s Gelson Martins.

However, after several discussions, Liverpool are close to agreeing a £35 million transfer of Salah from AS Roma, as reported by the Daily Mail. The Reds are hoping to strike a comprise with around £5 million in add-ons.

Gazzetta now adds that Liverpool’s new offer, including bonuses, means that there’s no further discussions needed about the deal, and that Salah will be a Liverpool player in the coming week.

Roma are under pressure to sell players by June 30 to stay within Financial Fair Play parameters, which could play in Liverpool’s favour.
