Missing out on Aaron Mooy should not be a disappointment for Newcastle

Newcastle United have been linked with Aaron Mooy, who could join Huddersfield Town from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

According to BBC Sport, Aaron Mooy is set to join Huddersfield Town on a permanent contract from Manchester City.

Mooy played on loan at Huddersfield last season, and it has been reported that a £10 million deal has been agreed between the two clubs.

Newcastle United were reportedly interested in signing the 26-year-old midfielder this summer. Back in May, SBS reported that the Magpies had made a bid for the Australia international.

It does now seem that Newcastle will miss out on the services of Mooy, but they should not be too disappointed. The Magpies could make an offer in January 2018 or next summer.

Losing the 26-year-old to Huddersfield this summer would mean that Newcastle would get to monitor Mooy’s performances in the Premier League.

The Australian midfielder was superb in the Championship last season and was one of the best players for Huddersfield, but that does not necessarily mean that he will be a hit in the Premier League.

Newcastle could continue to watch Mooy’s progress, and if he does well in the Premier League, then they could make an offer in January or wait until next summer.
