The Gunners have received a boost in their pursuit of Monaco youngster Kylian Mbappe, with Spanish media outlet Diario Gol claiming that Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos has advised club president Florentino Perez not to sign the talented Frenchman.

Arsenal are believed to be working hard on a deal to secure the signature of the highly-rated 18-year-old, according to the Telegraph, as Arsene Wenger looks to overhaul his attacking options.

The north London outfit are at an obvious disadvantage in the race to snare the France international, however, with no Champions League football on offer at the Emirates next term.

Their chances of signing the Monaco star appear to have been given a boost today though, with Diario Gol claiming that Ramos has spoken to Perez about Madrid's interest in Mbappe, and warned him against signing the 18-year-old, highlighting the huge risk attached to the proposed deal because of the enormous financial outlay on transfer fee and wages for someone so young.

Bringing the pacey forward to the Emirates still seems like a tall order for Wenger, and with a transfer fee in excess of £100 million most probably required to obtain his signature, the Gunners would have to more than double their transfer record if they are to have any chance whatsoever.

If Arsenal somehow manage to conceive him to move to north London though, it could turn out to be a signing of title-winning significance.
