According to an exclusive report from Tutto Mercato Web, Liverpool are ready to offer midfielder Emre Can a new contract until the summer of 2021, with a weekly wage of £100,000.

The report claims that Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are now stepping back with the German set to commit his long-term future to Jurgen Klopp's side.

Can's current deal has just a year left to run and there had been doubts regarding his situation.  But having seen a resurgence under Klopp, it is no surprise that Liverpool appear to be giving the player what he wants.

The 23-year-old has featured 129 times for Liverpool to date, including 40 times last season, and he will be vitally important as the Reds mount a challenge on four fronts next time round, including the Champions League.

Liverpool are likely to be busy in the transfer market signing the players that can take them to the next level.

However it was also important to secure the long-term future of the German international and Klopp will be hoping he puts pen to paper sooner rather than later.

He can then look ahead to signing the players Liverpool need with a new striker, a left-back and a centre-back likely to be high on his agenda.

Liverpool have to contend with a Champions League qualifier later this summer so Klopp will want all his new additions bedded in long before that match.
