Celtic’s current transfer record currently stands at £6 million for Chris Sutton.

Brendan Rodgers stated back in February that he would smash Celtic’s transfer record (Daily Record), if the right opportunity came available this summer, and that chance may have just presented itself.
Celtic are on the look out to add quality rather than quantity this summer, and Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj is the latest player on their list of targets (Press and Journal).
Januzaj’s career may have stalled in recent times, but the Belgian youngster would be an incredible signing for Celtic, if the Bhoys could bring him to Glasgow.

The 22-year-old remains a hugely exciting talent, despite his struggles in recent times, and Celtic could be the perfect environment for him to develop at.
Rodgers gives Celtic’s attacking players a lot of freedom, and Januzaj could thrive under such instruction.
The youngster struggled at Sunderland over the past campaign, but he was asked to a lot of defending by David Moyes.

However, at Celtic he would likely be able to show off his creative qualities far more – and he could potentially grow into the best player in Scotland.
United want a buy-back clause included in any deal to sell Januzaj, as they realise he could develop into a superstar in the future, if a manager is able to harness his potential.
And if Celtic do have a chance to sign Januzaj, then a player of his quality would be a fitting target to break the club’s transfer record on.
