Rangers fans have responded playfully, it seems, to suggestions there could be new director of football in place at Ibrox.

According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers are lining up a move Manchester City's academy director Mark Allen, who could leave the Etihad Stadium after eight years of service.

In his new role, Allen would be expected to assist with Rangers' summer recruitment drive, which is already well underway following the signings of Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Fabio Cardoso, Dalcio and Daniel Candeias by manager Pedro Caixinha.

It's plausible, then, to think a number of City youngsters could feature in the new man's Ibrox plan. And Rangers fans have naturally been speculating as to who those players might be, with one particular name - already a familiar one in Glasgow - recurring.

Here's what the Light Blues fans are saying...

Roberts, of course, has spent the past 18 months at Rangers' Old Firm rivals Celtic, and is wanted back at Parkhead by manager Brendan Rodgers.

But with Allen on board or not, it would be some surprise to see Roberts turn out for any Glasgow club except for the Bhoys next season.

Which Manchester City players would you like to see at Rangers?
