Former Chelsea youth coach Ade Viveash has told SkySports that Liverpool have signed an absolute gem in Dominic Solanke.
Solanke fired England to victory at the England under-20 World Cup, winning the Golden Ball award for best player in the process.
The striker has signed a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool to sign once his Chelsea contract expires at the end of this month.
England's Dominic Solanke
Viveash compared Solanke to retired Tottenham Hotspur legend Teddy Sheringham, commenting that in some ways he has superior qualities.
He told SkySports: "I have been very lucky as I have worked with some very talented players, but Dominic is right up there at the top of that list.
"He is an outstanding footballer. He's intelligent and has great movement. He plays like a No 9 and a No 10 put together. Without being disrespectful, he reminds me of Teddy Sheringham but quicker."
Viveash added that he wishes Solanke well at Liverpool and believes the change of club will be good for his career, having stalled at club level at Chelsea.
Tottenham's Teddy Sheringham
Sheringham won the Champions League with Manchester United, and played more than 250 games for Tottenham where he is best remembered.
He scored 343 goals in English football during his career. Solanke is yet to net his first senior goal in this country.
The form he has shown at youth level suggests it is only a matter of time, and Liverpool should be buoyant about the deal.
