Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for Turkish talent Cengiz Under this summer.

It was recently reported by The Sun that Spurs had agreed an £8 million fee with his club Basaksehir for his signature and that Spurs will be beating Manchester United to his acquisition.

That was clearly not the case as Spurs have so far not managed to secure the player’s services.

Several other teams are now said to be keen on the player, including German side SC Freiburg. Interestingly for Spurs, they want him to replace a player that Tottenham recently missed out on.

According to a report from A24 the Bundesliga side are very keen on the Turkish player to replace Maximilian Philipp, who recently agreed to join Borussia Dortmund.

At the start of the month it was was reported by The Sun that Tottenham were battling with Dortmund to sign the player. But he agreed a five-year deal for a fee reported by ESPN to be in the region of £17.7 million recently and with Freiburg now flush, they are looking to spend some of that cash on another Tottenham transfer target.
