Leeds United fans are fearful that Jaap Stam could become their next manager, as the Reading boss’s odds have shortened considerably in recent times.
Stam is currently the 5/1 third-favourite to take over at Leeds and replace Garry Monk with SkyBet.
And Whites supporters are desperately hoping that Stam is not placed in charge.
I think I'd rather finish mid table with any other manager than playing a season under Jaap Stam and his anti football style #lufc— Total Rumours (@TotalRumours) June 7, 2017
Please not Jaap Stam— Rob Haigh (@robhaighcad) June 7, 2017
Please Please don't get Jaap Stam as manager this would be a very bad move and you would loose the trust of thousands of Leeds fan.— neil young (@neil_nay) June 7, 2017
Please, please not Yapp Stam. He would quickly destroy so much of Monk's legacy, not least the current goodwill and relationship with fans.— shinywhite (@jmkracing) June 6, 2017
@andrearadri not sure if Stam rumours true but 5 mins research would tell you why such a move would go down as well as Ken Bates coming back— Roobster (@roobster123) June 6, 2017
In truth, Leeds moving for Stam does seem unlikely, as the former Manchester United man has aggravated the Elland Road crowd this past season.
Stam made some disparaging remarks about Leeds, following both their matches against Reading.
At the moment Leeds’ search for a new manager in very unclear, with Andrea Radrizzani keeping potential candidates under wraps.
Leeds are expected to start interviewing managers in the coming weeks, as they edge closer to finding Garry Monk’s successor.
