Nuno signed Mat Ryan at Valencia, should try and beat Brighton to his signature this summer

The Australian goalkeeper has struggled to settle in Spain.

Wolverhampton Wanderers recently appointed Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager following the departure of Paul Lambert. The Portuguese arrives at the club with quite a reputation, previously managing Rio Ave, Valencia and Porto in his career.

The former goalkeeper will no doubt want to put his own mark on the team before the new season and he should be considering some of his former signings to do just that.

One name that he will surely want to consider is Australian goalkeeper Mathew Ryan.

Nuno signed the Soccerroo from Club Brugge in 2015 whilst Valencia manager but was sacked in November of that year and barely got a chance to work with the shot-stopper. He has since struggled to have an impact at Valencia and spent the end of the season out on loan at Genk.

This summer he is being linked with a permanent exit from the Mestalla, with Brighton said to be keen on the player. But Wolves would be smart to make a move themselves.

Currently the club have Carl Ikeme and Andy Lonergan in between the sticks but bringing in the Aussie would be a welcome move.

He is a talented young stopper with all the attributes to make it big in the game and Wolves would be strengthening an area that has needed updating for some time.

Ryan could be the perfect former Nuno player for Wolves to sign.
