Pundit Trevor Sinclair has taken to Twitter to claim that West Ham United could make a ‘massive’ signing by bringing Kelechi Iheanacho to the club.

Iheanacho hit 14 goals in 35 games for Manchester City last season, with many believing that the Nigerian striker would become one of the Premier League’s next top strikers.

However, Iheanacho struggled to feature under Pep Guardiola this past season, starting just five Premier League games as he ended up behind both Sergio Aguero and January arrival Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order.

Now, Iheanacho could look to leave City in order to pursue first-team football elsewhere, with the Daily Mail reporting that West Ham United have submitted a bid to sign the striker.

A representative of the striker even told Own Goal Nigeria earlier this week that he believes Iheanacho will join West Ham ahead of other clubs as he seeks to stay in the Premier League.

That would all be very exciting for West Ham, given that they have been searching for a top striker for some time now, and Iheanacho would fit the bill.

Pacey with predatory instincts and huge potential, Iheanacho would represent a major addition for Slaven Bilic’s side, and one pundit certainly thinks he would be a smart signing.

Former West Ham and Manchester City midfielder Trevor Sinclair has taken to Twitter to claim that the Hammers could be about to make a ‘massive’ signing by landing Iheanacho, calling him a ‘goal getter’ based on his time with City.
