The Manchester United forward would be a fantastic addition to the Everton squad this summer.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman will be looking to make vast improvements to his squad throughout the course of this summer, with the club's fans and owners both expecting more than the seventh placed finish the Dutchman's side produced this season.

Everton have a reasonably strong squad on the whole, so only signings of the very highest quality will make a difference to their starting line-up.

One particular area where Koeman needs to strengthen is in the forward department, with a lack of pacey options, especially in wide areas.

With this in mind, they should consider an extremely bold move for United forward Anthony Martial, with Jose Mourinho ready to move the Frenchman on this summer, according to the Independent.

The 21-year-old possesses devastating pace - something that the Blues are a little short of, what with Aaron Lennon's continued absence, Yannick Bolasie's prolonged recovery from injury and Kevin Mirallas set to turn 30 in October.

Martial would be the ideal target for Koeman, albeit an extremely bold one. The France international moved to Old Trafford in September 2015, in a deal that could rise to £61.5 million, according to Sky Sports.

Whilst it would surely take an extortionate amount of money to prise the former Monaco man away from the Europa League winners, Everton are now in an extremely strong position financially with the backing of Farhad Moshiri.

An offer in excess of £40 million could tempt United into selling, and the signing of someone of Martial's ilk would be a huge statement from the Merseysiders, and could lift them into contention for a Champions League spot.

One potential stumbling block, however, could be the fact that there is no Champions League football on offer at Goodison Park, and whether Martial would be willing to swap Europe's premier competition for the Europa League is questionable to say the least.

The 21-year-old is such a talented young player though, that Everton should do all they can to make a deal for him happen, whatever the cost.
