Leeds United recently appointed former Middlesbrough head of recruitment Victor Orta as their new director of football.

It follows the takeover completion by Andrea Radrizzani and with Garry Monk now leaving Orta’s former Boro colleague Aitor Karanka is the strong favourite to take the head coach role at Elland Road.

So plenty of Boro players are now bound to be linked with moves to Leeds United this summer.

But here are three players Orta has signed previously, but not with Boro, that Leeds should consider signing:

Mario Pasalic

The Chelsea youngster spent the past season on loan at AC Milan but in 2014-15 the Croatian international spent the campaign with Elche, after Orta took him to the club.

It is time the 22-year-old got a taste of the English game and Leeds could offer him the perfect opportunity to play regular first-team football in the Championship.

The Brazilian striker is currently with Russian outfit Rubin Kazan but was signed by Orta at Elche in 2014.

He scored 14 goals in 34 La Liga games for the club and the 28-year-old has since played for Real Sociedad and is now in Russia.

A top talent with an eye for goal and an Italian passport, the 28-year-old would be a great signing.

Leeds United need a left-back and the Serbian is a talented option in the position.

He was signed by Zenit in 2013 but never settled at the club and joined Krylia Sovetov in 2015.

Leeds could replace Charlie Taylor with this 26-year-old former Orta man.
