Newcastle United and Leicester City have also been linked with Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Southampton are ready to break their transfer record and sign Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 66, May 21, 2017).
According to the report, Sigurdsson is Southampton’s number one target in the summer, and that the Saints are willing to pay more than the £17m they had to cough up to recruit 25-year-old forward Manolo Gabbiadini from Napoli in the January transfer window.

The report has also claimed that Everton, Leicester City and Newcastle United are interested in the 27-year-old midfielder.
The Daily Mail recently reported of Tottenham Hotspur’s interested in the Iceland international they sold to the Swans in the summer of 2014.
Good move?
According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 66, May 21, 2017), Sigurdsson is rated at £25m, but he would be worth every penny.
If Southampton are to progress as a club and push for the top six in the Premier League on a regular basis, then they need players like Sigurdsson in the team.
