England's Tom Heaton in action

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton has told The Daily Mail that he does not plan to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Heaton has been on the books of Burnley since 2013 and has a contract with the Clarets until June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

“For me it is about playing Premier League football and continuing to work away at the international set-up,” the England international told The Daily Mail.

“I'm delighted to be involved in that and have a taste for it and now I've got a hunger for more. I want to continue improving every day and I'm more than happy where I am at the moment.”

Blow for Newcastle United and Crystal Palace?

Heaton’s comments will come as a blow for Newcastle United and Crystal Palace, with both clubs reportedly interested in signing the 31-year-old in the summer transfer window.

Earlier this month, The Sun credited Newcastle and Palace with interest in the former Manchester United prospect.

However, it seems that the former Cardiff City and Bristol City goalkeeper is happy at Burnley and does not plan to leave Turf Moor anytime soon.

Good decision?

Heaton has played well for Burnley this season, and it does not make much sense for him to leave the Clarets in the summer.

Would leaving for Palace be a step-up for the goalkeeper? No. Newcastle? Yes, certainly, but would he play regularly? Probably not.
