In demand... Leeds United's Chris Wood
Leeds United are hoping they can get through the summer transfer window with star striker Chris Wood still on their books.
The New Zealand international scored 27 goals in the Championship this season to finish the campaign as top scorer.
His form has understandably attracted attention from Premier League sides, and this week The Sun were among a number of papers to claim interest is mounting.
Wood is claimed to be valued at £20 million, an illustration of how far he has come since signing for Leeds for £3 million.
The good news for Leeds United is that the bookies are backing him to stay.
Leeds United's Chris Wood
SkyBet price Wood at 8/13 to end the transfer window a Leeds United player, lower odds than him signing for any Premier League team.
Stoke City are considered 5/2 favourites, with West Ham 7/2 and Swansea City at 9/2.
By contrast, contract rebel Charlie Taylor is a 16/1 shot to stay at Leeds.
Wood will naturally be tempted by playing in the top flight, but he is onto a good project at Leeds, who demonstrated a big step forward this past season by challenging for the play-off spots.
If they are to do so again or go one better, keeping Chris Wood is essential.
