Mystery continues to surround the future of Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper David Stockdale.

After helping the Seagulls clinch promotion, Stockdale has surprisingly failed to commit to a new deal, with ESPN reporting talks have broken down.

Stockdale has added fuel to the fire by suggesting his next move is to be family driven, rather than strictly footballing reasons or out of loyalty.

Stockdale's intentions still remain unclear, but one club who could feel a little more positive about their chances are Leeds United.

The Mirror reported three weeks ago that Leeds were poised to make a move for Stockdale as a free agent.

Leeds have Rob Green in goal who recently signed a contract extension, but the former England goalkeeper is 37 and David Stockdale is six years younger, and is therefore a better longer term option for Leeds as well as arguably a superior short term one too.
