Hugo Lloris and David de Gea are two of the best goalkeepers in the world. The two players have been in great form this season for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United respectively.
Lloris is one of the most important figures in the current Tottenham squad. The France international’s performances have been important in the North London outfit finishing second in the Premier League table.
United have struggled in the Premier League this campaign and are not going to end up in the top four. De Gea’s performances, though, have been superb, just as they have been for the past four or five years.
The Spain international goalkeeper has kept 14 clean sheets in 35 league appearances for United this season, while Lloris has kept 15 clean sheers in 33 league games.
Which goalkeeper has been better this season: Lloris or De Gea? Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, has picked the Tottenham star ahead of the United ace in his Premier League Team of the Season.
“For me the best ‘keepers in the Premier League this season have been Hugo Lloris and David de Gea,” Shearer wrote on Coral.co.uk.
“It is Lloris who edges it though, as he has been excellent along with his back four for Spurs and that is one of the reasons they have finished so high.
“Spurs have conceded fewer goals than any other side in the league this season so a lot of credit has to go the French ‘keeper.”
