With the season coming to an end, Rangers fans will be keen to get on with what is likely to be a busy summer at Ibrox. The Scottish giants were all set to challenge Celtic this season, on their return to the Scottish top flight.

However, things went from bad to worse under former boss Mark Warburton, with many fans becoming quickly fed up with their manager's lack of tactical flexibility, eventually leading to his departure.

Under Pedro Caixinha, the club are yet to see much improvement, but perhaps the new boss needs a transfer window to mould his team.

And Pedro Caixinha is likely to take advantage of the summer in order to stamp his mark on this team. However, with Rangers still needing to be candid in the market, the new boss will likely be on the lookout for bargains.

So, with the playing squad needing a refresh, HITC Sport has taken a look at three recently released players who could potentially come into Ibrox and make a difference to this Rangers side.

Jason Lowe (Blackburn Rovers)

The Blackburn Rovers captain and right-back was one of the few stand-out performers in what has been a bitterly disappointing season for Rovers, seeing them relegated to League One from the Championship. The defender has made over 190 appearances for the club, after breaking into the side from the Rovers youth academy in 2010. Able to play as a right-back or a centre-half, Jason Lowe could offer Rangers versatility, experience and leadership next season.

Christophe Berra (Ipswich Town)

Former Ipswich Town defender Christophe Berra has been linked with a move to Rangers as recently as the beginning of this month by The Scotsman, and could well be a top target for the Gers already. A move to Ibrox seems certain after it was revealed that Berra would be leaving the Tractor Boys this summer to secure a move back to Scotland. With Hearts also keen on the defender, Pedro Caixinha will need to work hard to make sure the Scottish defender ends up at Ibrox.

Jordan Botaka (Leeds United)

The Leeds United youngster has spent the season on loan at Charlton Athletic, and despite showing glimmers of real talent, Leeds have decided to release the player this summer. Signed in 2015 from Dutch side Excelsior, Jordan Botaka offers a pace and directness from midfield, and could flourish in the Scottish top flight. The Congolese winger scored twice for Charlton this season, and scored 11 times for his previous club Excelsior, but didn't manage any goals in his 13 appearances for Leeds United.
