According to a report in the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are planning to sell 10 first-team players this summer.

Steve Bruce has decided to cull his squad, in the hope of raising some much needed transfer funds.

Villa are operating with a sell-before-you-buy policy this summer, as they target new players.

And it is believed that a huge amount of Villa’s first-team squad could leave.

Bruce is keen to offload many of his fringe players, in a bid to cut his side’s wage budget.

Jordan Veretout, Jordan Amavi, Aaron Tshibola, Tommy Elphick, Carles Gil, Aly Cissokho, Gabby Agbonlahor, Micah Richards, and Ross McCormack are all thought to be set to leave Villa Park in the coming weeks.

Villa have spent big in the last two transfer windows, which has led to them having to cut costs this summer.

Villa failed to earn promotion from the Championship this season, and Bruce will be under pressure to spark an improvement at the Midlands club next time around.
