Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Kurtis Cumberbatch in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

Cumberbatch operates as a midfielder and is on the books of non-league club Harrow Borough at the moment.

The 21-year-old has scored six goals for Ryman League team since joining them in the January transfer window, according to the report.

Forest are not the only club who are reported to be interested in the youngster. According to The Daily Mail, League One teams Bristol City and Oxford United want the midfielder as well.

Experience

Cumberbatch may be only 21 years of age and is playing for a non-league team at the moment, but the youngster has the experience of being at professional clubs.

As reported by The Daily Mail, the midfielder was a scholar at Watford where he worked with the club’s then-manager Gianfranco Zola, before leaving for Charlton Athletic.

Risk

Given that Cumberbatch is playing for a non-league team, there would be an element of risk if Forest signed him.

However, the success of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy and West Ham United winger Michail Antonio has shown that players from non-league can cope with the pressure and the intensity in the Championship and the Premier League.
