Predicted Rangers side to play St Johnstone: Caixinha should start Barjonas

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha gestures to the players

Here is how we predict Rangers and St Johnstone will line up this weekend:

To be played on Sunday 21st May 2017 at 11:30. Venue: McDiarmid Park,

Odds: St Johnstone 21/10, Draw 23/10, Rangers 13/10

New Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha during the press conference

Rangers travel to McDiarmid Park this weekend to take on St Johnstone in their final league game of the campaign.

The Gers will be smarting from the 2-1 defeat to Aberdeen earlier this week that ended their chances of finishing in the top two.

That said, Pedro Caixinha's side will want to go out on a high and they should be too strong for St Johnstone, provided they play to their full potential.

Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership and that is where they will stay regardless of Sunday's result.

St Johnstone are one place below the Gers in the table and while they cannot overtake them, a victory would ensure they finish the season just three points behind Caixinha's side.

Celtic U20's Michael Johnston Rangers U20's Jamie Barjonas

Rangers are without defender Rob Kiernan and, given the ineffectiveness of Jon Toral and the fact this is something of a dead rubber, they could give chances to some of their young prospects.

The most likely new starter is Jamie Barjonas, who has three substitute appearances to his name so far.

With all that in mind here is how we expect Rangers and St Johnstone to line up this weekend:
