According to respected German newspaper BILD Leeds offered him a two-year deal, worth around 450,000 Euros (£380,000) per year at Elland Road.
The player himself fuelled rumours by telling BILD:
“England is an adventure. Playing in the motherland of football would be a great experience. I have family – so the whole package has to be right. Even if no one says – the financial is also important. “
So is Gonther signing for Leeds this summer? No.
The centre-back has instead decided to join another 2. Bundesliga side. Dynamo Dresden confirmed on their official website yesterday that they have agreed a deal to sign the St Pauli captain this summer.

Leeds' Kyle Bartley
“Dynamo Dresden is a great club with a lot of tradition and outstanding fans. Games in Dresden have always been something special."
Leeds United may be in the hunt for a new centre-back this summer, with Kyle Bartley potentially sticking with Swansea City after his impressive loan spell at Elland Road. But Gonther will not be heading to West Yorkshire.
