£20m to spend? The three brilliant players Leeds United could target if Chris Wood leaves

Leeds United striker Chris Wood is said to be close to leaving Elland Road.

According to The Sun, Leeds United could net £20 million if they sell Chris Wood.

In this article, we take a look at three players they should spend that money on, if they do cash in on the New Zealand international.

Kyle Bartley

Leeds' Kyle Bartley

Bartley was highly impressive at the heart of Leeds’ defence last season, and suggested that a move back to Elland Road could appeal.

However, the centre-back has returned to Swansea City and looks set to stay there - unless Leeds can buy him permanently.

It is doubtful whether the Whites have the funds to snap up the centre-back at this moment in time, but if they do sell Wood then Bartley should be Garry Monk’s first addition.

Britt Assombalonga

Losing Wood’s goalscoring threat would be a major blow, but Assombalonga would be able to cover for him.

The Nottingham Forest forward is one of the most deadly finishers in the Championship, but does need to be carefully managed due to his injury problems.

Jota

Brentford's Jota celebrates after the match

The Brentford forward was only playing Championship football after January, but he still managed to rack up 12 goals and five assists.

The Spaniard is a simply incredible talent at this level, and if Leeds could do a deal, he would enhance the quality of their first team considerably.
