Alan Brazil claims Glasgow Rangers made a mistake with Pedro Caixinha

General view of Ibrox - Rangers

Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers appointed Pedro Caixinha over Alex McLeish earlier this season.

Alan Brazil has told the Sports Breakfast on TalkSPORT, which was broadcast on 18th May, that Glasgow Rangers should have appointed Alex McLeish instead of Pedro Caixinha.

The Portuguese boss has been at Rangers for a matter of months, but already question marks are forming over his ability.

Rangers were beaten 2-1 by Aberdeen at Ibrox last night, and they have looked unconvincing throughout much of Caixinha’s time in charge.

And Brazil has suggested that Rangers should have put McLeish in charge instead of Caixinha.

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish

“The new manager doesn’t look like he’s going to make much difference,” the former Scotland international said. “Alex McLeish would’ve been much better.”

McLeish actually stated that he would have liked to have taken over at Rangers, but Caixinha got the job ahead of him.

Caixinha initially targeted helping Rangers to get to second in the Scottish Premiership and win the Scottish Cup.

However, he has failed with both these ambitions - with Rangers struggling to sustain any sort of good form.

Caixinha will now be under serious pressure next season, as Rangers look to make significant improvements.
