Southampton are interested in signing Bertrand Traore from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to The Sunday People (print edition, page 51, May 14, 2017).
It has been reported that Southampton are considering a move for the 21-year-old forward, who is currently on loan at Dutch club Ajax.
The Burkina Faso international, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, is reportedly rated at £4.5 million.
The problem that Southampton and Everton could face in signing Traore is that the forward may not be willing to move to a club not in the Champions League or in the Europa League next season.
The 21-year-old has helped Ajax reached the final of the Europa League this season. Peter Bosz’s side could also win the Eredivisie title this campaign.
Would the Chelsea-owned youngster be willing to move to Southampton, who may not end up in the top half of the Premier League this season?
Traore has scored four goals in 12 Europa League matches and nine in 23 Eredivisie games for Ajax so far this season, according to WhoScored.com.
