Pundit Trevor Sinclair has taken to Twitter in order to praise Blackpool prospect Bright Osayi-Samuel, who is being strongly linked with a move to the Premier League.

Whilst the Tangerines have been forced to watch on as youth product Tom Barkhuizen has starred with fierce rivals Preston North End, another homegrown talent is emerging in Osayi-Samuel.

The Nigerian winger, 19, was a regular in the first team last season, making 26 appearances as Blackpool were relegated to League Two, but he has become a star in the fourth tier.

Osayi-Samuel has notched four goals and three assists in 31 League Two games this season, and has terrorised defences with his pace throughout the campaign.

Over the weekend, Osayi-Samuel – who was born in Nigeria but moved to Spain and then England as a child – was named the EFL Young Player of the Month, again showing just how much promise the young wide man has.

In fact, speculation over Osayi-Samuel's future is rife, with The Sun claiming just a fortnight ago that Aston Villa, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are all tracking his progress at Bloomfield Road ahead of possible moves to sign him this summer.

Blackpool will hope that Osayi-Samuel's head hasn't been turned, given that they take on Luton Town in the League Two play-offs later this month, and he has now received praise from former Blackpool midfielder Trevor Sinclair.

The BBC pundit took to Twitter on Sunday to praise Osayi-Samuel for his consistent performances in League Two, another indication that the winger is set for a huge future away from Bloomfield Road.

Tottenham will be looking for the next Dele Alli, so tracking top Football League prospects is a smart strategy, but Everton have been doing similar over the last 12 months by signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ademola Lookman, and Osayi-Samuel would fit that particular plan.

Aston Villa will be hoping that greater first-team prospects can help them win the race for Osayi-Samuel, with a fierce battle expected for his signature whether Blackpool win promotion this season or not.
