With Chelsea set to return to the Champions League next season, the Blues are looking to strengthen their squad in the summer. It also means that some of the players could be sold to bring in new faces.

According to reports from The Times, Chelsea are willing to sell Willian this summer. The Brazilian midfielder is worth more than £100k per week, and has a contract at the club till 2020.

Willian has started only 13 Premier League games this season, with Antonio Conte mostly preferring Pedro Rodriguez ahead of him.

In case he is made available, should Liverpool make a move for him this summer?

Experience – Willian has been with the Blues till 2013, and has played over 120 Premier League games. Plus, he is a regular international for the Brazilian national team. With Liverpool likely to play in the Champions League next season, his experience could come in handy.

Quality player – There can be no doubt about his quality. He is fast, skilful, hard working, puts in defensive shifts, good at set pieces, tactically smart, and most importantly can score goals – what more do you need from an attacking midfielder?

Add depth to the squad – Willian is a versatile player who can play across all the positions upfront. His flexibility is an asset and therefore Jurgen Klopp will have no problem whatsoever in accommodating him in the starting XI.

Furthermore, Liverpool need quality players not only in the starting lineup, but also should look to add depth to the squad, if they are serious about challenging for major honours.

At 28, Willian is playing at the peak of his form, and Liverpool could get some best 3-4 years of service from him.
