A report from Spain suggests that Lionel Messi has told the Barcelona hierarchy who he wants the club to sign this summer, according to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, and worryingly for Gunners fans, an Arsenal player features highly on the list.

The Spanish giants are on the verge of a major transition, with Luis Enrique set to leave the club, many of their top players approaching the twilight of their careers, and a serious squad deficiency in the right-back department.

And Don Balon claims to have the inside track on who Barcelona’s star man wants his side to sign during the off-season.

They claim that the 29-year-old Argentine has approached club officials with a three-man list that consists of Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti and Juventus’ Paulo Dybala.

All incredibly talented young players, but it is arguably Bellerin who Barcelona are in most urgent need of.

The 22-year-old right-back has established himself as a regular first-team starter under Arsene Wenger, and has showcased his capabilities on a consistent basis, with his marauding displays down the touchline for the Gunners.

The Spaniard is under contract at Arsenal until the summer of 2023, so the Gunners will hold all the power if they are approached by Barca regarding Bellerin.
