Toulouse defender Christopher Jullien is rumoured to be a target for Southampton this summer as star man Virgil van Dijk looks set for a summer move, reports the Daily Star.

24-year-old Jullien has been in top form for the Ligue 1 side this season, starting 31 of Toulouse's 34 league games this season, only missing the other three through suspension.

The powerful Frenchman, who has scored five goals, is likely to cost the Saints £10million, but should Premier League rivals Everton also take an interest in signing him?

Ronald Koeman's side have been one of the many teams linked with Southampton star Van Dijk in the summer, but are unlikely to be able to compete with the Premier League heavyweights for his £50m signature.

With an ageing back line in Phil Jagielka, 34, and Ashley Williams, 32, Everton should look to rival Southampton in their pursuit of Jullien to add something extra to their back line.

The six-foot four-inch centre-back would be a very ideal addition to a Toffees side that will surely look to challenge for a top six spot next season.
