It has been reported this week that Brazilian attacker Jonathan Cafu is catching the eye of several Premier League clubs.
Sport Witness reported that Leicester City, West Ham and recently promoted Brighton and Hove Albion are all interested in the player.
The report also revealed that he has a release clause of £10.2 million in his current deal at Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad.
At that price, Everton must get involved. The Toffees were previously linked with the player. In February the Daily Mail reported that Everton were keen, along with the other interested parties.
Ludogorets star Jonathan Cafu
The 25-year-old has had a journeyman career so far, already playing for seven clubs. He joined Ludogorets in 2015 and has become a pivotal player for the club and impressed in the Champions League for the club.
Everton could be losing Romelu Lukaku in the summer and a new striker is needed at the club.
Everton’s Romelu Lukaku
Cafu is a talented player who could thrive in a major league if given the chance. At that price, he might just be worth a punt from Ronald Koeman and Everton in their hunt for more attacking options.
