West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference ahead of his side's clash with the Toffees tomorrow, and highlighted Romelu Lukaku as a real threat that they need to be wary of, as quoted by the club's official website.
West Ham have been woeful this season, and currently sit in 13th position in the Premier League table, after their bitterly disappointing recruitment drive in the summer of 2016 failed to take the club forward.
Bilic will be desperate for three points against Everton tomorrow, and if his side do manage that, they would reach the 40 point mark, and subsequently all but secure their Premier League status for another season.
The Croatian spoke to reporters ahead of the game against Ronald Koeman's men, and shared his belief that no matter how well his side defend, the Belgium international is still capable of hurting them, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
Everton's Romelu Lukaku celebrates
"It’s a job for our defenders to stop Lukaku, but not only the defenders, to stop him. In some games we’ve played against them, our defenders were really good against him but last time he scored a goal. He is an individual and he can do you harm. You try to get him out of these positions he’s really good in. We have to get close to him and double up on him. Lukaku is really good. He’s also consistent for his age. He’s been scoring goals since he went on loan from Chelsea and every season at Everton."
The 23-year-old hitman has been on fire for his side this term, scoring 24 Premier League goals thus far, and is in a very strong position from which to win the Golden Boot award.
With West Ham's fragile defence, and his fantastic goalscoring record against the Hammers, Lukaku will be extremely confident of adding to his tally tomorrow.
