Aston Villa are set to face Birmingham City on Sunday.
Agbonlahor has not played at all over 2017, after picking up a hamstring injury.
However, the striker has been determined to prove his fitness this week, and has been turning up early for training.
And Bruce says that he intends to rewards the striker’s efforts by giving him a place in Villa’s squad on Sunday.
“I’ve just seen Gabby walk through the door at half past eight this morning, which doesn’t happen very often,” Bruce said.
“There must be a small game on his agenda!
“He’s done everything he possibly can to be involved.
“We know he relishes the occasion so he’s going to be involved too.”
Agbonlahor has played just 11 times for Villa, and appears to have work to do to save his career at Villa Park.
The rapid forward has not made much of an impression in the last two seasons, and with his contract expiring at the end of next season there are question marks over his future.
Villa head into the Midlands derby on Sunday knowing that a victory would plunge their rivals into further regelation trouble.
Birmingham are currently in 20th place in the Championship table, and recently appointed Harry Redknapp in attempt to save themselves from slipping into League One.
