Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal
Former Owls man and Sky Sports pundit David Prutton provided his prediction for Saturday's Championship game between Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports.
Carlos Carvalhal's men will be desperate for a win to cement their place inside the top-six, whilst Gary Rowett's side have nothing to play for, apart from their own personal pride.
Ann Prutton, who made 61 appearances for Wednesday during a three year spell with the club, backed his former side to take all three points against the Rams, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports:
David Prutton during his time with Wednesdays
"A few weeks ago and I'd have tipped this to be a draw but this looks like a Wednesday win now. They were good value against QPR whereas Derby, despite having a fair bit of the ball against Huddersfield, a massive deflection helped them get a point. With Gary Rowett looking towards next season, this game players the chance to audition for their part in his team going forward. But Wednesday have got more to play for at this moment in time."
Prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Derby County
The Yorkshire outfit head into the game on the back of four consecutive Championship victories, whilst the visitors have lost just once in their last six outings.
With Fulham facing a tough looking trip to Huddersfield, the Owls could make huge strides towards securing their place inside the top six with a win over Derby, and they will be full of confidence heading into the game after their impressive run of late.
The East Midlands outfit will be no pushover though, and have looked like a far better side under Rowett.
