The French striker has been in fine form in German football.
It is being reported this week that West Ham United are hoping to snap up French striker Anthony Modeste.
Yesterday talkSPORT reported that the FC Koln striker will cost at least £25 million this summer if West Ham do decide to bring him in.
Of course, West Ham have wanted him before. Back in January 2015 the Hammers were linked with Modeste by the Daily Mail, at the time available for £5 million from Hoffenheim.
The manager at West Ham at the time was Sam Allardyce, so should he consider him again this summer at his current club Crystal Palace?
The 29-year-old Frenchman has scored an impressive 25 goals in 32 games this season and is a player who would certainly suit Allardyce’s style of play.
Crystal Palace have Christian Benteke as their star striker. Other than that they are thin up top, with Connor Wickham suffering with injuries, Fraizer Campbell out of favour and Loic Remy only a loanee.
With Palace’s good form under Big Sam looking to take the Eagles to survival they will need another striker if they are to avoid the pitfalls that have befallen them this campaign.
Whilst he may be a more expensive option then when Allardyce previously wanted him, Palace would hope he proved to be a sound investment.
