According to a report in the Daily Mail, Everton are leading the race to sign Michael Keane from Burnley this summer.

Everton are in competition with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United for the England international’s signature.

However, the Toffees are said to be at the front of the queue, with Ronald Koeman already making plans to bring the 24-year-old in.

Everton have begun initial discussions with Keane ahead of the summer transfer window, to try and ensure that they are capable of signing him at the earliest possible time.

Burnley are said to have reacted to the discussions positively, and Koeman believes he may be able to land the centre-back for £20 million.

Keane is expected to be one of a number of additions that Everton make in the summer transfer window, with Koeman making no secret of his desire to add more quality at Goodison Park.

Keane has been a mainstay in Burnley’s side this season, and he has helped Sean Dyche’s side have an impressive first season back in the Premier League.
