Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to sign Andreas Weimann from Derby County this summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Paul Lambert has confirmed to the Express and Star that he wants to sign Andreas Weimann from Derby County this summer.

Weimann is currently on loan at Wolves from Derby, and the two clubs have already been discussing making the move a permanent one.

Wolves are believed to have agreed a £1.5 million fee to sign the Austrian international.

And Lambert has confirmed that he wants to bring the rapid forward to Molineux on a long-term basis.

He said: “I’d like to sign him, he’s been terrific.

“It’ll wait until the end of the season but hopefully it’ll take care of itself.”

Weimann has been in fine form for Wolves, since signing during the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old has made 18 appearances for Wolves in all competitions, scoring three goals and claiming two assists.

Weimann looks likely to have a big part to play for the remainder of the season, with Wolves still having four games to play.

Wolves are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Blackburn Rovers.
