Tottenham Hotspur are hoping that they can tempt Bayern Munich star Douglas Costa to the Premier League this summer.

A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Tottenham have earmarked Douglas Costa as a potential summer target but will have to spend up to £30 million if they hope to land the Bayern Munich star.

The Mirror reports that the 26-year-old is currently unhappy at the Allianz Arena having struggled for game-time under Carlo Ancelotti, and that appears to have grabbed Mauricio Pochettino's attention.

Tottenham are reportedly planning to move Moussa Sissoko on this summer after his poor first year at White Hart Lane, and Pochettino has identified the attacking midfielder as a potential upgrade on the Frenchman despite his struggles for game-time in Germany this term, the Mirror adds.

However, Costa will not come cheap with the Mirror suggesting that the Brazilian will cost around £30 million, but if he can replicate the kind of form he has shown for Bayern then he would arguably be worth the hefty fee.

In 21 appearances in the Bundesliga this season, Costa has scored four and contributed three assists - which is a much more impressive record when you consider that he has started just 13 times - while last season, he scored the same number of league goals but also provided nine assists.

And given his vast experience of playing in the Champions League, he may perhaps be the kind of marquee addition that will help Spurs battle in both the Premier League and in Europe if they can pull off a stunning deal.
