Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton fears losing goalkeeper David Stockdale to West Ham United, the Mirror reports (20 April, page 59).

Stockdale was recently named in the PFA Championship team of the season, having led the Seagulls to promotion and the verge of the title.

His contract expires this summer, however, and it is claimed that Brighton face a battle to keep the 31-year-old out of West Ham's clutches.

The Hammers have reportedly lined up Stockdale as Darren Randolph's replacement, with the Irishman failing to convince in recent months, while it remains to be seen whether the London side will take up their option to extend the contract of second-choice Adrian beyond the end of this season.

Interestingly, Stockdale recently 'liked' a tweet which suggested West Ham should sign him.

Meanwhile, the Mirror adds that Brighton want to make Palermo's Michael Morganella their first summer recruit.

It is claimed that the Swiss was recommended by head of recruitment Paul Winstanley as cover for Spanish right-back Bruno, who turns 37 in October.

Would Stockdale be a good signing for West Ham United?
