West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic against Everton
West Ham face Everton in the Premier League clash at the London Stadium on Saturday.
This has been a terribly frustrating season for West Ham where they performed well below their expected level. The Hammers are nine points clear of safety, and may have done enough to save themselves from getting relegated.
Slaven Bilic, the West Ham manager, has been backed by the club hierarchy, but it remains to be seen whether he can keep his job beyond the end of the season.
The Hammers have won just once in their last nine Premier League games, and Merson believes they will have to wait a bit longer for their next win.
Sam Byram and Mark Noble are suspended, while the Hammers will be without Andy Carroll for this one.
Everton are in great form since January, but Ronald Koeman would love to improve their away record.
The Toffees have not won their last five games away from home, and although they will start as favourites, Merson thinks it will be a difficult game for Ronald Koeman's side.
“It will be a difficult game for Ronald Koeman's side but Everton's fine form should continue in east London,” said Merson to Sky Sports.
West Ham need to get a couple more points to confirm their top-flight status and I think they battle to a draw this weekend.”
Merson predicts a 1-1 draw between West Ham and Everton.
