Predicted Nottingham Forest side to play Reading: Assombalonga and Clough to be recalled

Nottingham Forest 2

Here is how we predict Nottingham Forest and Reading will line-up for their Championship meeting this weekend.

To be played on Saturday 22nd April 2017 at 15:00. Venue: City Ground, Nottingham

Odds: Forest 7/5, Draw 23/10, Reading 9/5

Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton

Nottingham Forest take on Reading on Saturday - with Mark Warburton in desperate need of three points to aid his quest to keep Forest in the Championship.

With three games remaining, Forest find themselves just one place and one point ahead of the relegation zone - but also experiencing a poor run of form that has seen Warburton's side record one league victory in eight attempts.

Last week's defeat to fellow relegation candidates Blackburn Rovers has amplified the significance of Forest's predicament ahead of the encounter with promotion hopefuls Reading - with Warburton expected to make at least two attacking changes to his previous line-up in an attempt to secure a much-needed victory.

Striker Britt Assombalonga is expected to replace Ben Brereton and come in to lead the front line, whilst Jamie Ward will likely make way for a Zach Clough recall into Warburton's starting XI.

Reading's Garath McCleary in action

Meanwhile, opponents Reading should name two former Forest men in their side - with full back Chris Gunter and winger Garath McCleary fully expected to start at the City Ground.

Reading manager Jaap Stam will be hopeful that his team can secure a third place finish ahead of their anticipated play-off games; with any potential victory over Forest continuing the Royals' rehabilitation from their recent 7-1 loss to Norwich City.
