Should Queens Park Rangers look to sack Ian Holloway?

QPR's Olamide Shodipo in action

Given the run of form Rangers have been on since his re-appointment, and his recent managerial record, the future doesn't look bright.

Following Queens Park Rangers' 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday - their fifth league defeat in succession - some fans on social media have started to turn on recently re-appointed boss Ian Holloway.

Rangers have been on a woeful run of form since Holloway returned to the club, and that 2-1 defeat to the Owls was their 16th defeat in 28 games under the former Crystal Palace and Blackpool manager's stewardship.

At least QPR fans can take solace from the fact they are pretty much safe, having hit the magical 50 point barrier, but given how reckless Holloway was with his summer spending at Palace following an incredibly fortuitous promotion there - and his general managerial record - future prospects look bleak at best.

Under Holloway, Palace won just 11 out of their 32 league games before the play-offs, and had Holloway taken over from the start of the season, with the points per game he registered, the Eagles would have finished 10th with 64 points

Dreams may have come true for Blackpool fans following an amazing promotion to the Premier League there, but that seems a one-off given an uninspiring spell at Plymouth Argyle, a relegation with Leicester City, and a shambolic spell with Millwall - which saw Holloway sacked before the club were relegated.

It gives the QPR board a headache moving forward, as Holloway is an ex-player for Rangers and did fairly well as manager previously - plus, if he can re-create his formula that so worked at Blackpool, then this difficult first season would be completely worth it.

However, if QPR start next season in the same manner at which they're finishing this one, then the managerial axe could be sharpened yet again at Loftus Road.
