The former Celtic striker's latest jibe about Rangers was poor in its execution.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton
The Twitter user had argued that the ex-Celtic defender's 18 appearances are not enough to justify his selection, to which Sutton replied: "You're just jealous Chris he never played for Rangers."
Somewhat bizarrely, the BBC and BT Sport pundit then chose to bring up Rangers' failure to sign a different centre-back, Joleon Lescott, last summer - but was left with egg on his face.
"You nearly got Lescott but he said to [sic] far away... so he signed for Olympiakos", wrote Sutton, despite the fact it was AEK Athens.

In reality, Rangers perhaps had a lucky escape with Lescott, who has made just five senior appearances for Athens and Sunderland combined this season.
The Ibrox side did, however, turn to Philippe Senderos after failing to land the 34-year-old - a move which has proved equally unsuccessful.
Rangers' Philippe Senderos receives his marching orders
The Swiss was red carded on his debut against Celtic of all clubs, and looks set to depart at the end of his contract this summer having played just four times in all competitions.
Would Lescott have been a better signing than Senderos for Rangers?
