Tom Davies is only 18 years of age, but the midfielder has already established himself as an important player for Everton this season.
The teenager is flourishing under manager Ronald Koeman and seems to have a bright future ahead of him.
The midfielder has made 19 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, 13 of which have been starts. Davies has scored two goals, provided three assists and created 12 chances.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has been impressed with the performances of England Under-19 international, and has suggested that the Everton youngster is superstar material.
“I think the one to be excited about at Everton is Tom Davies, who seems to have broken in and stayed in,” said Gerrard on the Live Premier League Tonight show on BT Sport 1 last Saturday evening (broadcast from 8pm, April 15, 2017).
“Terrific footballer, scored a few exciting goals. What he has done is he has announced himself and basically said to a starter regularly: 'I am taking your place. I am staying in there'. And they are the ones that usually go on to become superstars.”
Another Everton youngster who has impressed this season when he has played is Mason Holgate. The 20-year-old is a versatile defender who can operate as a full-back or as a centre-back.
The England Under-21 international has played 13 Premier League games for the Toffees so far this season, 11 of which have been starts.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has revealed his admiration of Holgate, who has an assist to his name this season.
“I like Holgate as well at Everton,” said Wright on the Live Premier League Tonight show on BT Sport 1 last Saturday evening (broadcast from 8pm, April 15, 2017). “He looks like someone who can kick on as well. I like him.”
Everton are seventh in the Premier League table at the moment with 57 points from 33 matches.
