A report in the Liverpool Echo has suggested that Romelu Lukaku will be allowed to leave Everton this summer, as long as any interested club offers the Toffees £100 million for his signature.

The Echo reports that Lukaku wants to leave Goodison Park for a club playing in the Champions League, and has rejected a new contract seemingly in an attempt to force through a deal.

And while Everton are prepared to let him move on, they have made it clear that it would take a world record nine-figure fee to make a deal happen this summer.

It is hardly surprising that the Toffees are demanding an astronomical fee for the Belgian given how well he has done in the Premier League this season.

His 24 goals leaves him four clear at the top of the division's goalscoring charts, and finding a worthy replacement would be a huge task that Ronald Koeman could surely do without this summer.

With Lukaku still boasting two years on his contract (via transfermarkt), Everton do not need to sell just yet, so may perhaps be hoping that if they manage to break into the top four in the next couple of seasons, it will show to the striker that he can realise his ambitions on Merseyside.
